With the rain, busy schedules and recent events, Chloe and I weren’t sure if we would be able to meet some very special people (and tripawd) before I had to go back up to school. However, yesterday we were lucky enough to meet the Tripawd spokesdog himself, Mr. Wyatt Ray Dawg, and his fabulous owners! Rene was as warm as she seems online and Jim was as busy as ever wrangling in his three legged ball of energy…we all know who that is… Chloe wasn’t sure what to make of Wyatt at first while they briefly met on leash, however as soon as we entered the dog park, it became clear that Wyatt had no interest in a docile doggie. He was way more interested in chasing a white dog who was quite the provoker. Mr. Wyatt just couldn’t resist (to Jim’s dismay…). It only took an hour of constant running to wear that boy out!
To see how our Tripawd Parade was, check out the video below! (The Beginning screen flashes too fast (too lazy to change it), but it said Tripawd Pawty!)
First and foremost, Happy New Year to everyone!! We wish you all happiness and good health! Anyway, Chloe and I have had a busy last two weeks driving 350 miles in the rain, going to my grandmas for Christmas, visiting friends and other relatives, playing chaffeur to my family by picking them up from the airport…yes it has been quite a busy holiday season for us both! Not only did we celebrate Christmas, but we celebrated it 5 times because it was close to her 5 month ampuversary! We had Christmas at my grandpas, then my grandmas, then my uncles (twice!) and finally with my friends! I really don’t know how to top that one when her big 6 month comes around next month!
So to delve into a little bit of our adventures, we will talk about Chloe’s favorite Christmas; the one where we went to stay with my grandma. I would first like to mention that Chloe was a very good girl, guarding the house when we were gone and not digging into any of the chocolate presents that were under the tree. And for that, she got some roasted chicken with her kibble! Anyway, on Christmas morning she got, guess what, a new SQUEAKER! It is a bloated alligator…. and when Chloe squeaks him, it really does sound like it! And for those of you wondering, no she didn’t get any doggie make up from Sephora…
Afterward we took a walk around the neighborhood. Some elder folk stopped to talk to us and remarked at how well she was getting along. Strangers are always surprised to hear that she is 9 years old and that she has only been a tripawd for 5 months. Later in the day when after all the excitement of opening presents, playing with new toys and going on a walk to brag to new doggie friends about it wore off, it was time for Chloe to take a nap. And she found the best spot in the house.
Her own chair.
This year, I decided to rename the Thanksgiving holiday “Thanksfourgiving” because this special day fell very close to Chloe’s 4 month ampuversary. And going along with tradition, these are the things I am thankful for: Thanksforgiving Chloe a treatable cancer, thanksforgiving Chloe the will to be her old playful self (and lots of energy), thanksforgiving us the last 4 months together and most of all, thanksforgiving me such wonderful friends and family including those on the tripawd website.
On our long roadtrip home, we made a stop at Miss Mackenzie’s house! Chloe met Mackenzie, Kobe and Mackenzie’s mom! Here is a video Mackenzie’s mom made of the Pre-LA Tripawd Pawty.
Then onto a relative’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, we have relatives kind enough to let Chloe tag along 🙂 I sneaked her some delicious smoked salmon…. My brother shared his screamo music with her on the drive there…
And here she is enjoying the So Cal sun on their back patio.
Did I mention that today is Chloe’s 4 month ampuversary? Well it is and we (Chloe, her sister Rocket and I) went to the local dog park to celebrate with some old friends! The other two pooches are named Amber and Arwyn (pronounced Aerowin). They sure had fun running around being dogs. In order from top to bottom: Rocket, Chloe, Arwyn and Amber.
Here they are playing at the park!
And we spotted a Maggie Moo Look-a-like! Only this girl didn’t have the pretty spots like Maggie…It was the ears that did it!
Here is a picture of some ducks we found at the park…
It was appropriate that we visited the dog park because this was the very place I first noticed a tumor on her leg. Now that we have come back a mere 4 months later, so much has changed for the better. I am thankful for these last 4 months and we hope to celebrate many more ampuversaries! Hoppy Thanksforgiving everyone!
